According to The Daily Telegraph, Australian fan favorite Paul Brigss is planning a ring return and IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green is his target. Briggs retired in 2007 but now wants to come back for one final run. Briggs has only lost two fights since 1997. Both of those defeats were close decision wars with current heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek.
Trainer Billy Hussein confirmed to the paper that Briggs was on his way to Sydney next week to ramp up a comeback. Briggs' team have approached Green's manager, who would like Briggs to at least have a tuneup before they actually fight.
"Paul has been training and is in very good condition," Hussein said. "He's coming down next week to have a chat."
