Former IBO champion Danny Green is very upset with the ongoing reports which claim WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk attempted suicide in July from an overdose of sleeping pills. Back in July, Polish outlets reported that an unconscious Wlodarczyk was taken to hospital after deliberately overdosing on tablets following an argument with his wife.
"There was no suicide attempt and no coma," Green said. "The bloke had an argument with his wife, couldn't sleep and took too many pills ... he went into hospital and was out within 15 hours."
Green faces the champion on November 30th in Perth. The Western Australian spoke with Wlodarczyk's manager, Andrzej Wasilewski, who said the suicide reports were "completely false." He said the boxer did have a dispute with his wife and then had trouble sleeping and took too many pills. He was taken to a hospital to have his system flushed. Wasilewski provided a clean bill of health to the WBC before they approved the lash with Green.
