IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green thinks Roy Jones Jr. will try to survive against Bernard Hopkins later tonight. He doesn't see Jones being able to pull the trigger in Las Vegas. The last time Jones was in the ring, last December, he was knocked out in the first round by Green. Because of that, Green says Jones will be too worried about getting knocked out with a counter.
"I honestly think Roy is going to be gun-shy," Green told The Sunday Telegraph. "After what happened to him here in one round, it will severely affect his mental state. He's got a hell of a lot to prove."
"I think Roy will get frustrated with Bernard's defence. Bernard will try to shut Roy down. He's a defensive genius, Bernard. He's an incredibly gifted fighter. He's got every trick in the book and can adapt to any situation. So if Roy suddenly had eight arms, Bernard would be able to adapt to it."
Green expects Hopkins to shut Jones down with his defense and craft boxing abilities.
"If you want to watch a technician, a craftsman of the trade at work - if you want to watch a guy who takes no risks and hates being hit and will spoil and shut his opponent down - then go watch Bernard Hopkins against Roy Jones Jr," Green said.
