IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green is ready for the challenge of undefeated BJ Flores. The fight is taking place in Perth on Wednesday night. Green wants to redeem his standing with the Australian boxing fans who were left furious following his July TKO win over Paul Briggs. After only 19 seconds had passed in the first round, Briggs went down from a glancing punch and remained on the mat for the full count.

Months later, an investigation by the Western Australian Professional Sports Commission deemed the fight a "sham contest" because Briggs failed to fully disclose his neurological issues during the pre-fight medical exams. Green expects a very tough competitive fight on Wednesday. Flores is the biggest fighter that Briggs has ever faced since moving to the cruiserweight ranks.

"I just want to thank everyone who's been so supportive," Green said to AAP. "I was cleared of anything (wrong in the Briggs fight) so that was an inevitable decision and outcome on my behalf personally. I'm just looking forward to .. making them (the fans) proud and showing back the faith and loyalty and the support they've given me.

"I've got nothing more to prove. I've always fought with honour and integrity and I'll do that again on Wednesday night. Flores is a big, physically strong guy who's going to try to impose his will. But he can also box and he can also move on the back foot. He's got incredible skill. He's got a great jab for a big guy. We've also catered for a guy who's going to come forward and try to impose his size and skill. Whichever BJ shows up ... with my experience ... we can adapt to anything."
