When Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins step in the ring on Saturday, IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green will be watching with a lot of interest. In December, Green stopped Jones in the first round of their bout in Australia. The loss appeared to kill an already planned rematch between Jones and Hopkins. Green was on the verge of replacing Jones in the fight, but the deal fell apart when Hopkins made a decision to move forward with the Jones rematch.

Green wants the winner of the fight. Even if Jones loses to Hopkins, he still has a rematch clause hanging over Green's head from their original contract terms. Green is training for his April 14 defense against Manny Siaca at Perth's Challenge Stadium.

"I just want to watch it ... it will be interesting to see what happens. I had an agreement (with Hopkins) and he moved the goalposts but obviously I will watch it with interest. I can guarantee that he won't get knocked out in one round. If Roy wins against Hopkins it makes my victory (against Jones) even better," Green told AAP.

The Aussie fan favorite told reporters he is not overlooking Siaca. He remembers when domestic rival Anthony Mundine overlooked Siaca in 2004 and lost an upset decision and the WBA super middleweight title.

"If you go into a fight mentally a little bit too relaxed and overconfident - as one might be after destroying Roy Jones in one round - you can run into an absolute nightmare," Green said. "I'm very mentally focused and mentally strong. It's going to open up massive doors for him financially, a hungry fighter is a very dangerous fighter."
