Brooklyn, New York - When Paulie Malignaggi (33-6, 7 KO’s) hired Angel ‘Memo’ Heredia to join his team, a lot of eyebrows were raised in the boxing industry. Malignaggi has attributed Heredia with helping him effectively make weight for his camp with Danny Garcia (30-0, 17 KO’s). While many in boxing were skeptical and criticized Malignaggi, his opponent Garcia wasn’t worried.

“I ain’t worried about that because we did anti-doping so I’m not worried about that,” Garcia told BoxingScene.com. “I got tested 5 times just like he did. The protocol is they test him, they test me. Some days they do blood, some day they do urine, Monday they did blood and urine.”

Garcia will travel into Malignaggi’s backyard at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Garcia has headlined in the venue 4 times before so he feels like it’s a home away from home. With his success, it’s almost like he is the king of Brooklyn Boxing.

“I feel like the Barclays Center is my home,” explained Garcia. “When you think of the Barclays Center, you think Danny Garcia. After I beat Paulie, I beat Zab Judah; The Barclays Center belongs to me. I was the first world championship fight to open up the Barclays Center so I already feel like I got history in there."
