Daniel Valenzuela Shocks Carlos Zarate Jr. in Five Rounds

Gimnasio de las Liebres, Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico - Local journeyman Daniel Valenzuela (28-13, 15KOs) won a shocking victory over undefeated rising lightweight prospect Carlos Zarate Jr. (17-1, 12KOs). During the action, Zarate dislocated his right shoulder in the fourth round. Valenzuela was awarded the victory by a fifth round TKO when the unbeaten boxer's father, the legendary Carlos Zarate Sr., asked the referee to stop the fight because of his son's injury.
