Former junior middleweight champion Daniel Santos (31-3, 22KOs) is targeting a summer showdown with WBA junior middleweight champion Joachim Alince (30-0, 19KOs) of Canada.

Santos knocked out Jose Rivera in a WBA eliminator in October of last year. He tells Primera Hora that his promoter, Don King, is talking with reps for Alcine and he's hoping to land the title shot by June or July of this year. If the two sides can't come to terms, the fight will head to purse bids.

"They are already in negotiations. I'm ranked number-one by the WBA.  King is in talks with his promoters. Right now they are in a period where the WBA allows them to come to an agreement and if they can't, the fight will go to a purse bid," Santos said.

If Santos is unable to land Alcine, he would fight any of the big names, including a third meeting with Antonio Margarito, who Santos decisioned in their rematch. The first bout was ruled a no-contest in the first round. He would be willing to fight Margarito at a catch-weight.

"I would want to fight Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Antonio Margarito if he gets a win over Kermit Cintrón.  It can be at a catch-weight, so he won't lose the title," Santos said.
