Daniel Santos (32-4-1, 23KOs), a former world welterweight and junior middleweight champions, has been inactive since losing his 154-pound title to Yuri Foreman in 2009. Santos, 37, is considering a return to the ring in early 2013, according to source with knowledge of the details.

"The man is in great shape and has been training for the past month at Olympic Village in Bayamón. This is perhaps his last chance and he must be prepared. And if everything goes well, as expected, he should be fighting for a title, at middleweight, sometime next year. You know that Santos' career has had its ups and downs because he is an awkward southpaw and has also faced management problems but I think there is enough fuel for him to become a world champion again."
