United States heavyweight Daniel Martz is taking heart from Tyson Fury's world title triumph as he eyes an upset of New Zealander Joseph Parker in Hamilton.
Standing at 2.02m, Martz will be the tallest opponent Parker has faced in his unbeaten 16-fight career when they meet at the Fight For Life card on Saturday.
The 25-year-old from West Virginia, who boasts 14 wins from 17 fights, believes his 9cm advantage can prove decisive.
He points to 2.06m fighter Fury's stunning performance against veteran champion Wladimir Klitschko on points in Germany on Saturday.
The Briton used his extra height to outwit the Ukrainian and snatch four world title belts in the process.
"A taller, bigger fighter can frustrate a smaller fighter and mentally gain an advantage during a long, 12-round fight," he told NZ Newsire.
"I'm a lot stronger, I'm a lot bigger, I think I can push him around and make it a rough fight for him."
Martz, who is dubbed The Mountain, has won 11 times by knockout and reckons he also equipped to end the contest early.
He respects the record and form of the quick-moving Parker, whose last fight in October was arguably his most impressive when he knocked out seasoned Kiwi Kali Meehan.
However, Martz has spied weaknesses in the 23-year-old he believes he can exploit.
"He's a great fighter, he's got good footwork and fast hands but he also drops his hands whenever he throws them (punches).
"That leaves me an opening and an opportunity to win the fight.
"From what I've seen, he doesn't do well when he's backed up. I think that I'll be able to back him up."
