IBF middleweight champion Daniel Geale (27-1, 15KOs) has wanted to avenge his only career defeat for a long time. In 2009, he lost a split decision to then IBO champion Anthony Mundine (43-4, 25KOs). Geale has been chasing the rematch, but there wasn't any interested expressed from Mundine's camp.
Geale was laughing when he heard Mundine was going to make his American debut by facing 41-year-old Bronco McKart on July 14th in Las Vegas.
"[A rematch is] something that has been talked about, it's always been there from our side. We've shown a keen interest, but unfortunately if there's a challenge involved, Mundine's not up for it," Geale said. "I've heard of [McKart], it was about 10 years ago and he was old back then. Everybody I've seen comment on his opponent is almost in fits of laughter about it."
