IBF middleweight champion Daniel Geale (26-1, 15 KOs) easily retained his title for the first time with a twelve round unanimous decision over Eromosele Albert (24-5-1, 12 KOs) at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart, Tasmania. The scores were 116-112, 117-111 and 119-109. The hometown crowd was going wild for Geale in the contest.

Geale, in his first fight since winning the title from Sebastian Sylvester in May, had little to no trouble with outboxing and outworking Albert over twelve rounds. Albert was game, doing his best with constant pressure in several rounds but he was never able to land any fight-changing punches and Geale's movement and boxing ability was too much for him.
