Coldwell Boxing have bolstered their expanding roster by capturing the signatures of highly-rated North West prospects, Daniel Benson and Junior Jones. Both enjoyed successful amateur careers and they will be desperate to replicate their vest form when they make their professional debuts in the coming months. Dave Coldwell is delighted with his latest acquisitions.

“Daniel and Junior are two guys who I’m confident can go on and create great careers for themselves and they’ll both have my dedication and support in helping them reach their goals. Both have come from superb backgrounds and both are really determined and ready to get going. It’s an absolute pleasure to be working with two young and hungry fighters and I really can’t wait to watch them get in the ring and show the boxing audience what they’re all about.”

Liverpool’s Jones mastered his trade at one of his home city’s premier fighting institutions as he was a product of Rotunda’s famed boxing conveyor belt. Sharing privileged gym sessions with the likes of the Smith Brothers, Tony Bellew and Joe Selkirk, Jones’ ring education was evident as he shared the canvas with a number of high class operators such as Mark Heffron, Jazza Dickens and Coldwell Boxing stablemate, Anthony Jevons. Coldwell is itching to see his latest signing in action.

“He’s a good kid with a good pedigree and he’s someone that I’ve done my homework on,” buzzed Coldwell. “He had plenty of top wins as an amateur and he was also well decorated too which meant that he had the chance to box for his country at a high standard. His style is very well suited to the professional side of boxing and he’s a really nasty body puncher so I can’t wait to see him in the ring.”

Like Jones, Hyde’s Benson was also a quality unpaid boxer who held Schoolboy and Junior ABA titles which led to interest from a number of promoters back in 2011. Still waiting to make his professional bow, Benson jumped at the chance to work with Coldwell Boxing and the company’s top man is insistent that his latest charge’s patience will be richly rewarded.

“Benson has all the tools to fight for titles in the future but he’s still young and he’s been out the ring for a while so we’ll be monitoring his progress slowly to begin with. If it was up to him, he’d jump in with anyone at anytime because that’s the type of fighter he is and he’s been like that since he was an amateur. The only thing he wouldn’t fight is a squirrel because he informs me that he’s got a very serious phobia of them which I find very funny. As long as there’s nothing small and furry in the opposite corner, I’ll have huge confidence in Daniel doing well for himself.”
