Curtis Woodhouse will get the chance to go one better than domestic rival Frankie Gavin on Saturday night.

Woodhouse takes on Peter McDonagh as he returns to action under the Frank Warren banner at York Hall

The former professional footballer is chief support as Liam Walsh tackles Maxwell Awuku for the Commonwealth super-featherweight title.

And he will look to become the first man to legitimately stop domestic gatekeeper McDonagh, who has heard the final bell in all but one of his fights,

The only time he did not, he was stopped on an injury against Giuseppe Lauri.

Back in February, McDonagh dropped a points decision against Gavin over six.

And with Woodhouse hot on the heels of the 2007 amateur world champion, Saturday is the perfect opportunity for him to state his credentials ahead of a possible future showdown.
