IBF featherweight champion Cristobal Cruz (38-11-1, 23KOs), retained his IBF featherweight title with a close unanimous twelve round decision over Cyril Thomas (33-3-4, 10KOs) at the Palais des Sports in Aisne, France.

The fight was fought at a close pace until the seventh round, when Cruz stunned Thomas and began to pound him with combination punching - a cycle that continued until the end very last round of the fight. Thomas could not find any answers to chance the fight around. The scores were 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112. Thomas is the brother of Olympic medalist Jerome Thomas.

Cruz had won the vacant title last October by beating Orlando Salido via a close split decision.
