Eddie Hearn has told BoxingScene that former British lightweight champion, Anthony Crolla, 23-3 (9), has been offered the final slot in Prizefighter: Lightweights II due to take place at Liverpool’s Olympia on October 6.

“Anthony has been made and offer and he’s the man we want – we’re just waiting on his response,” said the Matchroom promoter.

“It’s a fantastic chance for Anthony to box Derry Mathews again [Mathews beat Crolla by TKO in April] and get his revenge. It would be a fantastic final piece to what is already a terrific looking Prizefighter, but we do have other options if he says no.”

The field currently consists of Liverpudlians: Derry Mathews, Stephen Jennings, Terry Needham and Nathan Brough. Former British super featherweight champion Gary Sykes [another Crolla conqueror] as well as unbeaten pair Kieran Farrell and Liam Walsh.
