Anthony Crolla's hopes of tackling Ricky Burns for the WBO interim lightweight title on March 10 are dwindling by the day as Hatton Promotions and Frank Warren Promotions cannot reach an agreement for the domestic clash.
Crolla is guided by Hatton Promotions, he believes that his dream fight is slipping away and today told the Manchester Evening News that he is desperate to secure the contest.
“When you come into the sport a world title shot is what you dream of. It’s a fight I believe I can win and I believe it would be a great fight. I want to become Manchester’s first world champion since Ricky Hatton and become Ricky’s first world champion. I’d love to make the city proud. I’m up for the fight. It’s down to the promoters to work together. All I can do is fight.”
FWP's office have twice admitted that an offer has been made but has not been accepted, it now looks likely that a deal with be reached with another fighter, leaving Crolla out in the cold for the time being.
