According to "El Siglo de Torreón," the super flyweight champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Mexico's Cristian Mijares (41-6, 18KOs), will be defend his belt on May 14 in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. The report indicates that the IBF wants Mijares to defend the title against the official challenger, Raul 'The Cobra' Martinez (28-1, 16 KO's) of San Antonio, Texas, who won the title right in a playoff battle with Rodrigo Guerrero.
But, Mijares' team has already agreed to face the fifth ranked boxer under the IBF, French fighter Malik Bouziane (13-1-1, 1 KO's), so a quick resolution has to be made.
