Terence Crawford couldn’t care less what Viktor Postol thinks or says about him.

Postol’s post also mentioned that he is “looking forward to destroying Crawford” and his perfect record when they meet in a 140-pound championship unification fight for Crawford’s WBO and Postol’s WBC titles July 23 at MGM Grand Garden Arena (HBO Pay-Per-View).

An unfazed Crawford dismissed Postol’s tough talk.

“Well, that’s what he’s supposed to say,” Crawford said Wednesday during a conference call. “As a fighter, he’s supposed to sell it as if he’s gonna destroy anybody he’s gonna step in the ring with. To my knowledge, I don’t care what he says because come July 23rd he’s gonna have to show me what he’s gonna do. He’s not gonna be able to just tell you.”

Crawford is convinced, too, that Argentina’s Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs) avoided him to oppose Postol. Ukraine’s Postol knocked out the favored Matthysse in the 10th round October 3 at StubHub Center in Carson, California to win the then-vacant WBC super lightweight title.

“Matthysse, he knew who to fight,” Crawford said. “He had the option to fight me or Viktor Postol and he thought Postol was the easier fight. That’s why he fought Postol, because he knew if he would’ve fought Terence Crawford what would’ve happened.”
