Cuban coach Pedro Diaz is not impressed with the words or the boxing ability of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs). Diaz is the trainer of WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 20KOs), who faces Mayweather this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Although Mayweather is a huge favorite to win, due to his speed, boxing ability and fast reflexes, Diaz expects Cotto to pull off the upset in impressive fashion.
"Floyd is a good fighter, but you can't win in the rings with words. You win with your hands. Words do not win any boxing match. Your hands do the talking. I'm not impressed with Mayweather. He is a fighter like anyone else who has two hands. I do not believe in favoritism. I believe in good hands, good preparation and good tactics. We looked at good videos, which is necessary to detect the weaknesses of the opponent, and people will see the result on May 5," Diaz told Carlos Gonzalez.
