While promoter Bob Arum was in Los Angeles to begin the promotional push for the June 28th showdown between David Diaz and Manny Pacquiao, he hasn't forgotten about the proposed bout between welterweight titlists Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito on July 26th.
"That thing will be wrapped up tomorrow and we're planning on the first press conference for next Monday in Mexico and then Tuesday in Los Angeles," Arum would tell Maxboxing/BoxingScene.com on Tuesday afternoon.
Will this highly anticipated clash take place in Las Vegas?
"That looks to be the case," said the veteran promoter, "but that's not finalized, either."
And it's not because of any trepidation on Cotto's part in coming west to face 'The Tijuana Tornado.'
"We have to finalize the deal with the MGM Grand because it's a real problem with the economy being the way it is. They're not selling tickets for anything," said Arum, who states that ringside tickets for Cotto-Margarito will be $700.
