Former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) is not paying attention to some of the verbal barbs coming from WBC middleweight king Sergio Martinez (52-2-2, 28KOs). For most of their fight promotion, Martinez has called Cotto a "diva" and said the Puerto Rican boxer has very unlikable personality and mistreats people.

Cotto says Martinez is making those statements because he's nervous that his body might fall apart in the fight. Martinez has been inactive since last April's decision win over Martin Murray, where the Argentine star suffered several injuries in the fight.

"You are never going to see Miguel Cotto talking trash about any of his opponents. I'm a professional the whole way. I'm just ready for the fight," Cotto said.

"When you pass through those kind of injuries, that he had before, and you realize that you probably are not going to be 100% for the fight, [then] you start saying those kinds of things to work on the mind of your opponent."
