As many expected, "The Contender" reality show has landed on the Versus network. The show spent a season on NBC and two seasons on ESPN. The fourth season will feature a 16-man tournament made up of cruiserweights, with American fighters taking on international opponents.
Buddy McGirt will be returning to train the American fighters, and according to Dan Rafael, the producers are interested in Enzo Calzaghe to train the international team.
None of the fighters involved have yet to be official. Rafael notes that former undisputed champion O'Neil Bell, Vadim Tokarev, BJ Flores, Darnell Wilson, Matt Godfrey, Johnathon Banks, Aaron Williams, Shawn Hawk, Emmanuel Nwodo, Ola Afolabi, Ehinomen Ehikhamenor and Mike Alexander are all in the mix.
