Earlier this week, we learned that light heavyweight prospect Conor Wallace would be in the co-feature slot of cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia against Claudio Squeo.

Now we know who Wallace, 15-1 (11 KOs), will be facing on May 13 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Australia.

That opponent is Dylan Colin, 14-1 (4 KOs). Colin is a 31-year-old from France coming off his first and only loss – a wide decision defeat to the 10-0 Daniel Lapin in December on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury II.

“It’s a great opportunity to come and fight in Australia against IBF number 2 [ranked light heavyweight] Conor Wallace. I’m honored to be the co-main event alongside Jai Opetaia, whom I met in Riyadh during my last fight. Wallace is a tough Irish fighter, another left-hander, but I gained valuable experience against Daniel Lapin in my previous bout. I’ve also trained hard with Artur Beterbiev this year, and I’m ready for the challenge.”

Wallace is a 28-year-old from Northern Ireland now living in Fortitude Valley, a suburb of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. He’s fought his entire professional career in Australia.

Wallace competed three times in 2024, stopping the 7-0 Jack Gipp in six rounds, taking a 12-round split decision over the 18-1 Jerome Pampellone and putting away the 7-0-1 Asemahle Wellem in eight rounds. Wallace’s lone loss was to Leti Leti via majority decision in April 2021; he won their rematch via sixth-round knockout in November 2022.

Wallace is ranked No. 2 by the IBF, No. 6 by the WBC and No. 7 by the WBO.

“Dylan Colin is a formidable opponent, and I’m not looking past him,” Wallace said in a press release. “Every fight is crucial as I edge closer to a world title shot. My focus is entirely on May 13 and delivering a performance that keeps me on track.”
