Conor Benn is set for Stateside exposure next month after he extended his ledger on Saturday.
The undefeated 21-year-old moved to 9-0 with seven early at Manchester Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports.
Benn outclassed Nathan Clarke from Cheshire with an opening round stoppage, on the undercard of Anthony Crolla’s lightweight victory over Ricky Burns, with the fight lasting just two minutes and 16 seconds.
And afterwards, it was confirmed that ‘The Destroyer’, the son of former two-weight world champion Nigel Benn, would form part of the undercard to Matchroom Boxing USA’s first show.
Eddie Hearn will take the Brentwood-based promotional outfit to the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, on November 11, as newest signing Daniel Jacobs faces Luis Arias of Cuba over 12 rounds at middleweight, with a heavyweight clash between Jarrell Miller and Mariusz Wach on the undercard.
“It was another great performance from him tonight and he’s doing the basics well now,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “It’s going to be very hard to hold him back now.
“Conor will be the first one of our UK boys to box on a Matchroom Boxing USA show [on] November 11.
“He’ll be the first of many Matchroom boys to be boxing Stateside and it’s going to be a great experience for him.”
News regarding further additions to the Jacobs-Arias card from the UK will be revealed in due course.
IN OTHER NEWS: Chantelle Cameron already knows her next move.
The Northampton lightweight, who turned professional under Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions earlier this year, moved to 3-0 on Saturday.
Cameron, 26, stopped overmatched Frenchwoman Bilitis Gaucher inside a round at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, exclusively live on Spike TV, as part of the undercard to Andrew Selby’s final WBC flyweight title eliminator victory against Maximino Flores.
And she will box again in just under five weeks after being confirmed as an addition to the undercard of Josh Taylor’s WBC Silver super-lightweight title defence against Miguel Vazquez on November 11 at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland.
It is understood that Cameron will once again be scheduled to fight over eight rounds, though her foe on the night is at this stage still to be determined.
Elsewhere on the Taylor-Vazquez card, Jason Easton will defend his IBO Inter-Continental super-lightweight title against an opponent to be named and Martin Bakole will come up against unbeaten Ali Baghouz with the vacant IBO Continental heavyweight title at stake.
Further names for the bill are set to be revealed in due course.
