Jamie Conlan will be out of action until the spring after suffering a shoulder injury.
The 29-year-old was withdrawn from his next fight and is now set for an extended period on the sidelines.
Conlan (15-0, 9 KOs) had been slated to make a defence of his WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight title on February 6 at Dublin's National Stadium, live and exclusive on BoxNation.
But his non-appearance at the South Circular Road venue in three weeks' time was confirmed by a press release yesterday.
And his trainer, Danny Vaughan, has now had his say on the pull-out of his charge.
"Jamie's got a shoulder injury," Vaughan told Boxing Scene on Saturday.
"We're not sure what's happening yet, but he's still not right.
"We've got a load of options for him and we don't know [whether the fight against WBO European champion Paul Butler, which has been long-awaited, will be next], but we're going to keep him [out] until he's right, which will probably be April."
