MARTIN CONCEPCION says there will be no excuses if he comes unstuck against Sam Webb this weekend.
Chislehurst’s Webb (16-1) makes the first defence of his British light-middleweight title against Concepcion (17-7) at The Troxy, London E1 on Saturday (16th Oct).
Heavy handed Martin has had a roller coaster career and there have always been doubts about his chin, but he hasn’t lost inside the distance for three years.
Leicester’s former Commonwealth champion said: “I cannot make excuses anymore.
“I have learnt my lessons, kept going and put my defeats behind me. This is my big chance.
“I can be hurt, but Sam will have never fought anyone who hits as hard as me.
“I am going into his territory and when I go to London I have to rip the title from in and keep going however tough it becomes.
Webb, 29, shocked Anthony Small to win his crown back in March and is tipped to challenge.
