Nonito Donaire was busier as expected. A single Donaire left hook deposited Fernando Montiel on the canvas, legs twitching.  Montiel somehow beat the count and was hit with two more power shots before the end came. A star is born.  Who wouldn’t want to see Donaire-Juan Manuel Lopez or Donaire-Gamboa?

Undefeated welterweight contender Mike Jones landed 408 total punches- an average of 34 per round - 15 more than the welterweight average.  He also averaged 42 jabs thrown per round and landed 19.  The welterweight avg. six jabs landed per round.  Jesus Soto-Karass landed 226 of 993 total punches- numbers that would win most fights- not tonight though.
