Déjà vu all over again for Rocky Juarez, who lost his fourth attempt at a title. Juarez slumped in the middle rounds, averaging 59 punches per round in rounds five thru seven. WBA featherweight champion Chris John was steady all night, and turned up the heat in the second half of the fight, averaging 116 punches thrown in rounds seven thru twelve. John, who was rocked in rounds eleven and twelve, outlanded Juarez 344-206 in total punches, but just 155-122 in power shots- still enough to earn what appeared to be a clear cut unanimous decision win. The fight was a draw on all three official cards.
