Francisco "Panchito" Bojado (18-2, 12 KOs) is about to be on the receiving end of a complaint being filed by the team of his recent opponent, Rogelio Castaneda, who Bojado stopped last Friday by way of a ten-round TKO at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, Arizona.

Bojado was in full control of the fight when he knocked Castaneda down in the tenth and then hit him before referee Bobby Ferrara could signal a break in the action. Ferrara immediately penalized Bojado by taking away a point because Bojado did not go to a neutral corner when he knocked his opponent down.

After the action resumed, Bojado knocked Castaneda down again and pounded him until Ferrara stopped the fight.

Bojado told the Arizona Republic that he went after Castaneda after knocking him down because the ref did not jump in to separate them and call a knockdown.

"When he seemed to go down (the first time), I paused," Bojado said. "What I've learned from all my years of fighting is that the referee has to do his job, and he didn't jump in and separate the fighters. As soon as I saw his gloves weren't touching the canvas and the referee didn't step in, I threw a flurry. It was a late reaction on my part, but the referee was a little slow on his job also."

Norm Frauenheim now reports in the Arizona Republic that Joe Hernandez, who worked Castaneda's corner, will protest the win and ask the Arizona State Boxing Commission to penalize Bojado for allegedly trying to hit his fighter after the bout was over.

Bojado went over the Castaneda's corner after the fight was stopped and at this point is when Hernandez claims that Bojado tried to hit his fighter. The bout was not televised, but the casino did videotape the event. The Arizona Commission will review the video if Hernandez actually files the complaint.

Bojado is already scheduled to face Steve Forbes on the undercard to the Juan Manuel Marquez-Jorge Barrios pay-per-view in Las Vegas, taking place on Sept. 15.
