Black Country boxers Lennox Clarke and Des Bowater visited Walsall Football Club recently ahead of their upcoming title fights at the Banks’s Stadium.

The duo, along with Des’ boxing brother, Sid, were present at The Saddlers’ recent Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Final victory over Preston North End, which culminated in the football club reaching Wembley for the first time in their 127 year history.

Now, with their respective fights just two weeks away, Clarke and Bowater are hoping to make their own piece of history by claiming British Bronze Masters Titles.

The pair are in action on Saturday, 21st February with Halesowen Super Middleweight, Clarke, taking on Trowbridge’s Dan Blackwell and Wolverhampton super featherweight, Bowater, stepping in with Leicester’s Lewis ‘2 Slick’ Jones.

“I can’t wait now,” Clarke told www.uko-boxing.com. “I’ve sold over 150 tickets and the buzz about the fight is really building. It was good to go to Walsall and see the team win. I’ll be aiming to do the same when I’m there in a couple of weeks.”

“Training has gone really well,” added Bowater. “I’m feeling fit and strong.

“Although I’m a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan, I have a little soft spot for Walsall. It’s great that they’re going to Wembley and I hope they lift the trophy. I’ll definitely be lifting the belt come fight night.”

Completing Black Country Boxing’s ‘Triple Threat’ show is Stoke light welterweight, Kieron McLaren. The 21 year-old takes on Tamworth’s Matt Seawright.
