Calgary, Canada – Canadian welterweight champion Steve 'The Dragon' Claggett (19-2-1, 13 KOs) scored a telling second round knockout over reigning Hungarian welterweight champion  Gyula Vajda (15-5, 10 KOs) Friday night at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Calgary, Alberta. The 24 year old Chinese-Canadian charge was all business from the opening bell, boxing with poise behind a stiff jab. Claggett scored a knockdown in the closing moments of Round 1 and finished the job with a compact, short and sharp right hand counter punch just 23 seconds into Round 2. The big punching Vajda was in the process of throwing some wild haymakers when Claggett snuck in the brilliant chopping counter right that dropped the Hungarian like a stone. The bout was immediately waived off giving Claggett his first win in 2014.
