BoxingScene.com recently spoke to former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (32-3-1) who will return to the ring on July 9th versus Carlos Molina (18-4-2). The fight takes place at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA and will be televised by Showtime as the co-feature to Brandon Rios' title defense versus Urbano Antillon.

Cintron told BoxingScene, "I'm training as if this fight is for a world title fight.  Molina is a tough fighter and comes to fight.  He gave Lara a hell of a fight that  ended up a draw.  I'm looking to come out victorious but at the same time I want to win impressively against Molina."

While Cintron said his goal is to get back down to the welterweight limit he revealed that there are fights at 154 pounds that he would love to get.

"The plan is to go back to 147 but if I could fight someone like Miguel Cotto or Chavez Jr. I would fight at 154."

Cintron recently signed a promotional contract with Top Rank and has been mentioned as a potential future opponent for both Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao.
