Chudinov brothers – Dmitry and Fedor – are quickly gaining strength in the middleweight and super middleweight divisions respectively.

Chudinov is scheduled to defend his WBA regular title on Aug. 9 in Sevastopol, Crimea, against an opponent to be named the next week.

“World Boxing Association has registered this fight on its calendar”, said both brothers’ handler Vladimir Hryunov. “Right now, the WBA is choosing the opponent for Dmitry’s defense of the title. His name will be known the next week”.

In other Chudinov news, WBA #4 super middleweight Fedor Chudinov (11-0, 9 KOs) had recently taken part in the “WBA KOs Drugs” annual festivities and fascinated the local crowd with the dominating third-round TKO over previously undefeated local fighter Andy Perez (now 19-1, 18 KOs).

“The opponent was pretty good”, revealed Chudinov to Boxko.ru. “However, as I’ve already said, my physical shape was simply perfect before my arrival to Dominican Republic. I was even in better shape than against Stjepan Bozic the last time out. Boxing on his home turf, Andy Perez started the fight very aggressively, marched forward. His punch was well felt too. But my perfect shape helped me to weather this storm without any significant problems”.

“I never plan any knockouts in my fight. This time it was all according to the current situation in the ring. In the first, I tagged him with the left, he went for a payback and I countered him nicely. In the second I floored him once again on my way out. In the third I didn’t mind a knockout but he looked to be ready to go, and I cooperated”, added Chudinov.

“The overall organization of this show was simply perfect, but I didn’t pay any attention to whereabouts as I was fully concentrated on my own fight”, ended Chudinov.

“Fedor Chudinov’s victory was classy, and he showed his skills in front of the respective WBA officials”, commented Hryunov. “It’s nice to understand that Fedor’s level of boxing was a nice surprise for many fans and experts alike. I’m ensured that getting an A-mark here will help Fedor to climb even higher in the WBA ranks, and I think his next US fight is just around the corner”.

“The partisan crowd has intensely supported their hero, and the clash turned to be very brutal, open and crowd-pleasing. Both fighters have their chances but Fedor’s beautiful defense and offensive skills were the difference. It was a clear victory for Fedor Chudinov”, said Hryunov.

Note: According to Boxko.ru, Dmitry Chudinov’s next fight is positioned as the defense of the WBA “regular” title. Oppositely to this, WBA #4 Daniel Jacobs revealed earlier that his Aug. 9 (the same day with Chudinov) fight against WBA #2 Jarrod Fletcher would be for the WBA regular title, while Chudinov still holds the interim version of the WBA belt.
