Orange County, Florida - Police have finally found and arrested Jim Martin, the husband of female boxer Christy Martin, who claims to have been violently attacked last week by her husband. Jim Martin, 66-years-old, is suspected of attacking Christy, 42, at their Florida home last Tuesday. Christy was stabbed and shot before she escaped their home and flagged down a motorist who drove her to the hospital. She is currently recovering from the injuries.
Jim Martin had been on the run for the last couple of days. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from a citizen who had seen Jim Martin in the area of Jeff Street and N. Thompson Road. The sheriff's office set up a perimeter and said their K-9 picked up a scent, but Jim had fled the scene when he noticed the police activity.
He was cornered in the backyard of a local home and eventually officers flushed him out and forced him to surrender. At first he came out with a knife in his hand, but dropped the knife and complied with orders to lie on the ground.
