Chris Avalos' (24-2) manager Mike Criscio has confirmed to Boxingscene.com that his fighter will return to the ring on November 8th in Pharr, Texas in a tune up fight before facing IBF junior featherweight champion Carl Frampton.
In an article that ran earlier today on BoxingScene.com, British promoter Eddie Hearn stated that the Frampton-Avalos clash will likely take place in February.
Frampton is currently recovering from a hand injury while Avalos hasn't fought since May when he stopped Yasutaka Ishimoto in 8 rounds in Macau, China in an IBF title eliminator. His team wants to make sure he is sharp going into his first world title bout. His opponent has yet to be determined.
The November 8th card will be televised by UniMas and will be headlined by Diego Magdaleno versus Hevinson Herrera. Avalos' fight will likely be off tv.
