Thailand’s Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo has made the 25th successful defense of his WBC Asian Boxing Council featherweight title with a unanimous twelve round decision over the Philippines No. 8 ranked Ericson Origenes in Ubon Ratanathani, Thailand.
If the scorecards of the three judges are any indication then it was a one-sided fight if not a mismatch. One judge had Piriyapinyo the winner 118-110, the second 119-109 and the third by a shutout 120-109.
With the win the 25 year old Thai who won the vacant title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Filipino Rolando Gerongco on July 9, 2004 improved his record to 34-0 with 19 knockouts while boxrec.com had the 24 year old Origenes dropping to 7-3-2 with 5 knockouts.
Piriyapinyo was coming off a 6th round knockout of Indonesia’s Yulio Moro on January 8, 2010 after knocking out the Philippines June Talape in the second round on November 6, 2009.
Origenes on the other hand was coming off a sixth round technical decision loss to Fahsai Sakkreerin in a clash for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific super featherweight title on June 18 this year.
