Don Charles, the trainer of Dereck Chisora, believes unbeaten British/Commonwealth champ Tyson Fury (16-0, 11Kos) should challenge WBA "regular" champion Alexander Povetkin (22-0, 15KOs) of Russia. Charles' boxer Chisora was dominated and lost his British/Commonwealth titles to Fury in July. Charles would like to see Fury capture a major heavyweight title while Chisora regroups, and then have the two British rivals stage a rematch in 2012.
“If I was Fury’s promoter I would get him to fight Alexander Povetkin for his WBA heavyweight title. I believe that he will be the next world champion," Charles told Barnet and Whetsone. “We’ll have a couple of fights, then be ready for the rematch. Tyson against Derek for the world title.”
