German promotional outfit Sauerland Event has confirmed that Dereck Chisora (24-5, 16 KOs) will have one more fight before his proposed European heavyweight title clash.
Chisora, who signed with Sauerland after being released from his contract by previous promoter Frank Warren last November, will appear tomorrow night (January 9) on the undercard of the WBA World super middleweight title fight between Vincent Feigenbutz and Giovanni De Caroli in Offenburg, Germany, a rematch from their October 2015 contest.
A win against the opponent still to be announced will lead Chisora, 32, into a rematch with ‘The Nordic Nightmare’ Robert Helenius for the European title.
Helenius (22-0, 13 KOs) beat the Brit in a highly contentious split decision victory in 2011, a night when more than many had Chisora as the winner on their scorecards.
The Finnish based heavyweight won the European belt for a second time when beating Franz Rill on points last month.
Purse bids for Helenius vs. Chisora 2 are due for January 21 with Sauerland expecting the fight to take place sometime in March of April.
The German outfit also confirmed that their British middleweight Anthony Ogogo would return to action “around March”. The unbeaten (8-0, 4 KOs) middleweight has been out of action since July 2015 due to injury.
Sky Sports 1 will showed delayed coverage of the Feigenbutz-De Carolis rematch and Chisora's tune up fight on Tuesday, January 12 from 8.30pm.
