Derek Chisora recently voiced his frustrations to BoxingScene.com in the wake of the postponement, and possible cancellation, of his heavyweight world title showdown with Wlad Klitschko.  ‘Del Boy’, however, may take heart from the latest twist in the Haye-Klitschko saga, as the Londoner is still in line for a surprise shot at Wladimir should a Haye showdown fall apart.

Indeed, Haye has admitted that his understudy may yet benefit if a WBA, IBO, IBF and WBO title fight isn’t agreed by mid-January.  “Chisora is at their mercy, if they want to fight him they will, if they want me they'll fight me – it's up to them,” reiterated Haye during his recent BBC interview.

Chisora is 14-0 (9); he came into contention due to his British and Commonwealth title wins over Danny Williams and Sam Sexton, the initial match up was derided, especially in light of Wlad’s dismissal of Audley Harrison’s world title credentials ahead of Haye’s WBA title defence against ‘A-Force’.

Come what may, the heavyweight picture should be slightly clearer by the end of January.
