Chinese contender Sen Chen was originally slated for the position, but he pulled away from being the comeback opponent for former world champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno of Panama.
Moreno, 33-years-old, is not the least bit worried about finding a new opponent, as he now faces Mexico's Daniel Colula.
David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.

Moreno is only focused on his preparation in order to succeed in his first bout in nearly two years, on April 30 at the Roberto Duran Arena.
"I worry about my preparation, not my opponent," said Moreno. "I will always prepare as I always do, because I don't want any surprises. I know that that top boxers are strong and they are coming in there very motivated for a win, so I always have that in my head."
The two boxers will collide at the agreed upon weight of either 126 or 130 pounds, over the course of eight rounds.
The Mexican boxer has a record of 12 wins, 3 by knockouts, 2 losses and 2 draws. Moreno has 36 wins, 12 knockouts, 6 losses and a draw.
Moreno has been out of the ring since May 25, 2017, when he lost by knockout to Julio Ceja in three rounds. It was his second knockout loss in a row, and at the time of his retirement Moreno had lost four of his last five fights.
Also on the card, popular local fighter Alberto Mosquera will take on Omir Rodriguez over twelve rounds, at the welterweight limit of 147.
Another former world titleholder, Nehomar Cermeno of Venezuela, will see action in the ring against Hernan Cortez of Panama.
Also on the card, against opponents to be determined, are Monica Henao (Colombia), Yorbis Pacheco and José Forero (Panama).
