BoxingScene.com was advised by international boxing agent/promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, and Golden Boy Promotions Vice President Eric Gomez, that a potential deal to sign WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno has fallen through.
Lewkowicz was trying to finalize a four fight contract with Moreno's management team of Roberto Grimaldo and Jacques DesChamps. In several interviews with the Panamanian press, Grimaldo has claimed that Golden Boy never sent the promised promotional contract, and he also stated that Lewkowicz was not authorized to negotiate the terms.
Several deadlines were put in place for Moreno to sign, with the most recent deadline passing by on Tuesday.
"Sampson is a member of the Golden Boy family. He was authorized by our company to negotiate the deal with Anselmo Moreno. I can confirm that a contract was sent over to Moreno and his management," Gomez told BoxingScene.com.
