Chavez vs. Alvarez - the anticipated All-Mexico battle may finally happen, but it's not what you think.

For years, Mexican fans have demanded a showdown between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. The two boxers are now too far apart in weight to make that match happen in the near future.

However, fans may get their wish on a smaller scale.

There are ongoing talks to stage a junior middleweight fight on July 26th between the siblings of the two fighters. If put together, Omar Chavez (32-2-1, 23KOs), the younger brother of Julio, would face the older brother of Canelo, Ramon Alvarez (18-4-2, 11KOs).

The two fighters have been baiting each other on the social networks, with Canelo Promotions making a formal offer to Omar Chavez on Wednesday for a clash on July 26 in Nayarit, but Chavez's side was not happy with the location and made a counter-offer to stage the match in Toluca or the United States.

The two sides will continue their discussions and there is interest on both sides.
