The legendary Mexican Hall of Famer Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. has faith that son Omar Chavez will put forth a solid performance on May 19 in Durango, and that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will be able to return to the highest level after a comeback in July or August , as part of an ultimatum that put them, already tired of so many negative reviews.

"I already put an ultimatum, both to Julio and Omar. I've always said, not because they are my children, that they have faculties, but their indiscipline has led them to have these ups and downs," said Chávez Sr. to ESPN Deportes.

"Omar is very well prepared, well focused, with another mentality, he knows about commitment, he knows that I am already tired of so many negative criticisms towards his person, towards Julio, because they come to the fight - but there is always carelessness, whether it's this or that, not throwing punches. Omar has to win, be convincing, throw punches and win well."

The man that many regard as the greatest Mexican fighter of all-time, has reiterated that he's tired of the criticism towards his children.

"I'm tired of so many negative criticisms of [them]. I had told them to leave because it was getting too bad," Chavez Sr. said.

Omar will face Argentine boxer José Carlos Paz on May 19 in Durango, while Julio would return in the second half of 2018.

"Julio is a bit overweight, but he is already coming down, I am happy with my children because they have good heads on their shoulders. Thank God that Julio has not fought in these last six months and he's been seeing a psychologist, seeing therapists who are helping him with the anxiety that he had - which did not allow him to sleep or train well.

"By the end of July or August he could return at 168 pounds, nothing more. Julio will come back at 168 pounds. Julio must be well prepared and he must fight at 168 pounds. With Canelo he made 163 and it was a sacrifice, he has to prove that he can do it."
