JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ JR SET FOR SUPER-HOT REMATCH VS. CARLOS MOLINA FEB 18!
When the result was announced, unbeaten teenager Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. could hardly believe it - his bout with Carlos Molina on Dec. 16 was ruled a draw.
"I put on a lot of pressure on him at the end of that fight," said Chavez Jr., 19, and the son of "El Grande Campeon Mexicano," four-time world champion Julio Cesar Chavez.
Now Chavez Jr. and Molina will be in a super-hot rematch on Top Rank's big "Real Warriors" PPV at the Aladdin Hotel-Casino, Las Vegas, on Feb 18.
Chavez, 23-0-1, has been digging in during his high-elevation training, working hard and running mountain trails at the Centro Ceremonial Otomi in Mexico.
"I am training at the Otomi because my Dad advised me to do it," said Chavez Jr. "I accompanied him many times here at the Otomi when I was just a kid. He really liked training in high in mountains because it's such a beautiful place."
Chavez Jr. said his goal for 2006 is to work his way to 10-round bouts and box for a youth title at the end of the year.
First, however, he has to deal with Molina on "Real Warriors."
Chavez and Molina battled to a six-round draw in Monterrey, Mexico, on Dec. 16.
"The rematch will be different," Chavez promised. "The only word in my mind is 'Win, win...."
