Tijuana, BC. - As previously reported, the former trainers of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., uncles Miguel Molleda and Rodolfo Chavez, issued a combined statement threatening legal action against Chavez Jr. and promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer. The two trainers claimed they were owed an undisclosed sum of money that was never paid after Chavez brokes ties with them to hire trainer Freddie Roach. They gave Chavez Jr. and Beltran until next week to come up with the money.
Chavez says the two sides have arrived at an agreement that satisfies both sides.
"Right now we discussed the terms and compensation that my uncles deserve. I have only gratitude for how they supported me in my career. They are my family and at the end of the day they be proud of me and the decision I made to make a change
by hiring Freddie Roach was for my own good and my career," said Chavez Jr.
