Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is rejected last Friday's technical decision loss at the hands of Mario Cazares in Tijuana, Mexico.

Chavez was looking to bounce back after suffering a TKO defeat at the hands of Daniel Jacobs back in December 2019.

Like that Jacobs contest, the bout with Cazares took place at the light heavyweight limit of 175-pounds.

Cazares, who coming in was 12-0 with 5 KOs, moved up from the super middleweight limit of 168.

Chavez appeared to getting overwhelmed by Cazares in the sixth, when he complained of a cut sustained above his eye.

It wasn't clear if the cut came from a clash of heads, but Chavez Jr. and his team said it did and it was ruled as such.

The contest would go to scorecards early due to the accidental clash.

All three judges had the fight in favor of Cazares, with tallies of 57-56, 57-56 and 59-54 - and this took into account that Cazares lost a point for a foul.

Chavez Jr. was furious with the scoring and left the ring.

"I don't know what he beat me with, I don't know what they saw. He's a guy who didn't come to fight. I was putting my face on him, saying: 'come fight me, hit me', he didn't even attack me," Chavez Jr. said.

Chavez Jr. vowed to continue his career and come back even stronger in the next fight.

Chavez's famous father, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, was watching at ringside and nearly went after Cazares' legal adviser, who was celebrating the big win and taking verbal shots at Chavez Jr.

"What are you bringing, f--king bastard. F--king little lawyer," directed Chavez Sr. to the representative of Cazares.

Canelo Alvarez's trainer, Eddy Reynoso, stated after the bout that Chavez Jr. put in the worst performance that he ever saw from the boxer.
