WBC silver middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is targeting some very big names for 2011. He returns on December 4 against Alfonso Gomez in Anaheim, California.
After he gets through his upcoming fight with Gomez, a possible encounter with WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is possible for the month of March. If there is no Cotto, he will look at Mexican rival Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez [if he beats Paul Williams on November 20].
"Once I clearly beat Alfonso Gomez, then I will figure out who I'm going to go up against. Right now my mind is on the fight with Gomez and nothing else," Chavez said.
"2011 should be a historic year for me. I think Cotto is interested in fighting me as much as I am in fighting him. There could be some good things with the champion Martinez or with 'Canelo'. But I think after I see what happens on December 4, then I'll see who I want to face."
