Several fighters under the Universum promotional banner are stunned with the news that head coach Michael Timm is leaving the company. The 49-year-old coach started working with Universum in September 1997, and helped groom boxers like Ruslan Chagaev, Jürgen Braehmer, Felix Sturm, Ina Menzer and others.
Timm currently trains Chagaev, Rakhim Chakhkiev and Menzer, but on August 1st the coach will begin training German amateur boxers on the Olympic base in Schwerin.
During the transition period, Timm will continue to coach Braehmer for the scheduled fall fight with the champion of Europe, Eduard Gutknecht.
Timm's contract with Universum is valid until 2013.
