BoxingScene.com was informed that the upcoming November 7 rematch between Chad Dawson (28-0, 17KOs) and Glen Johnson (49-12-2, 33KOs) has been approved by the WBC for the interim-light heavyweight title. The winner will become the mandatory to the title currently held by champion Jean Pascal (23-1, 15KOs).
Pascal defends the title against mandatory challenger Silvio Branco (59-9, 36KOs) on September 26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
If Dawson beats Johnson, I was told by a reliable source that he will target Roy Jones Jr. [if he beats Lacy], Pascal [if he beats Branco] or Bernard Hopkins for his next fight.
